Dr. Hasan MARAL
President

Dr. Hasan MARAL was born in Diyarbakır in 1982. After graduating from Van Agriculture Vocational High School, he completed his undergraduate studies at the Dicle University Faculty of Agriculture, and gained his master's degree at Yüzüncü Yıl University and his PhD at Çukurova University.

In addition to completing all primary, secondary, high school and university with honors,  Dr. Maral started to work in the Ministry of Agriculture by succeeding in being the top 100 in Türkiye at the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS), when he was in his last year of University. Dr. Maral worked as a Technician, Engineer and District Director of Agriculture in different districts between 2002-2009 within the body of the Bitlis Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and the Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate of Agriculture. He joined the Karacadağ Development Agency as an expert in 2009. He served as the head of the unit from 2009 to 2014. He worked as the Secretary General of Karacadağ Development Agency between January 2015 and September 2022. Also, he represented our country as a member of the Executive Committee, the highest body of the European Development Agencies Association (EURADA), headquartered in Brussels, between December 2020 and September 2022.

Dr. Maral was appointed as the President of the GAP Regional Development Administration by a Presidential executive order, numbered 2022/441 and published in the Official Gazette dated 10.09.2022, and assumed this  position on 15.09.2022. He is married and has two children. He has a good command of English.
