The “Project for the Preservation of Dome Houses and Barak Culture in the GAP Region” was launched in 2017 in line with decisions taken under the “GAP Region Tourism Master Plan” approved in 2011 to conduct promotion and branding activities by striking a balance between protection-utilization through a holistic approach, ensuring increase in employment and income from tourism, and giving a healthier and sustainable character to tourism activities in the region.
The objective of the project is to support culture tourism by making the destination brand (Mesopotamia-The Legendary Land) more attractive to tourists and visitors, and to ensure the preservation and sustainability of regional culture.
For this purpose, the “Project for Sustaining Barak Culture” was launched in 2017 in Dokuzyol-Ezogelin Village in cooperation with Oğuzeli Municipality. The project will reconstruct and sustain houses of mud-brick in Ezogelin Village.
