• Urban Transportation Project

In the context of the “Urban Transportation Project” supported by the 2016-2018 Investment Programme, the main objective is to establish sustainable urban transportation systems for creating more inhabitant-friendly cities.

The objectives and targets of the project are as follows:

• Improvements in urban life conditions and urban life quality,
• Increasing social and cultural areas of public use in a way to support urban transportation and improving existing infrastructure,
• Facilitating and improving access to areas with potential in tourism and high profile in regional tourism,
• Organizing education activities for pre-school and primary school students, improving social awareness in types of transportation and traffic, and supporting initiatives that focus on building institutional and local capacity.

Within the project, 25 specific projects were given support in 2016 and 2017 in 9 GAP provinces (Adıyaman, Batman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt, Şanlıurfa and Şırnak).
